AXO TRIONFA A VALKENSWAARD!

AXO si aggiudica la prima prova del mondiale MX1 2012, disputata sulla pista di Valkenswaard, in Olanda, di fronte a ben 23.000 spettatori.

La selettiva pista sabbiosa di Valkenswaard, una delle ‘classiche’ stagionali, non ha creato problemi ad Antonio Cairoli, che, nel suo completo TC222 powered by AXO, ha dominato il Gran Premio con un’autorevole doppia vittoria.

Conquistata la pole, grazie alla vittoria della gara di qualifica, Tony non ha concesso niente agli avversari nelle due gare corse nella giornata di Lunedì dell’Angelo, se non all’avvio di manche. In entrambe le gare Cairoli infatti, dopo aver imposto il suo ritmo, ha preso sugli inseguitori un margine tale da poter concludere le prove in gran sicurezza.

Antonio Cairoli: “Questa è una delle mie piste preferite. In gara uno non ho forzato all’inizio per evitare errori poi ho preso il mio ritmo e non ho avuto problemi. In gara due ho lasciato sfogare Desalle e Frossard, ho evitato la bagarre, poi ho alzato il ritmo andando in testa, e per il resto della gara ho controllato con buon margine di sicurezza. Sono contento di aver preso subito la tabella rossa e soprattutto perché credo che questo inverno abbiamo fatto un gran bel lavoro, con KTM e il team e sono molto soddisfatto della moto”.

Ottimo esordio nel team Red Bull KTM Factory Racing per Ken DeDycker. Il pilota belga, dopo due soli allenamenti in sella alla KTM SX 450F ha ottenuto nel primo GP stagionale la sesta posizione assoluta, grazie al quinto posto in gara uno, ottenuto in rimonta e l’ottavo posto in gara due. Ken in gara due era settimo ma dopo metà gara per una scivolata ha perso una posizione.

Week end più difficile per Guarneri, che ha vanificato le possibilità di una top ten finish con cadute in entrambe le manche. Il Bresciano, in sella alla KTM del Team Silver Action, ha ottenuto un tredicesimo posto in gara 1 ed un sedicesimo in gara 2.

Il prossimo appuntamento per i nostri riders è previsto tra due week end in Bulgaria, per la seconda prova della serie.

AXO TRIUMPHES IN VALKENSWAARD!

It’s been a perfect start to the season for AXO in Valkenswaard (Holland) where Tony Cairoli dominated the Gran Prix by sealing a double moto win in front of 23.000 fans gathered together despite the rain.

In his TC 222 gear powered by AXO, Cairoli turned in two near perfect motos on what he says is his favorite track to pick up yet another red plate for his collection and he had a chance to put his experience to the test in the second moto. He came out of the start in fourth place and quickly tucked behind settled into third on the back of Clement Desalle and Steven Frossard. He then waited his chance to overtake them while they expended energy fighting against each other for the lead. Once Tony hit the front he built up a solid gap and at the checkered flag he was a very comfortable 13.5 seconds ahead of the dueling pair that followed.

Tony Cairoli: “I just rode a smart race with not so many mistakes. I had a good speed and also good fitness levels so everything was good to take the win. Riding in the sand is just fun for me and I don’t really get tired. Now I look forward to see what my speed is like on hard pack!”

Good job for Ken De Dycker, too, who joined the Team just a few days ago to replace injured Max Nagl. The Belgian giant ended up sixth overall, a result that satisfied the team.

Things were harder for Davide Guarneri, who, due to crashes in both motos, prevented himself to take top ten finishes. The Italian ended up thirteenth in Race 1 and sixteenth in the final round.

The second round of the 2012 Motocross World Championship will kick off in two weeks time in Sevlievo, Bulgaria…stay tuned!
